Our mission

Buying a robot that mows your lawn costs a thousand dollars or more, and the facts that decide whether it suits your yard are scattered across spec sheets, press releases and videos. We put them in one place, in plain English: how big a lawn each robot is rated for, how steep a slope, whether it needs a wire or a base station, how loud it is and what the maker charges. We start with robot lawn mowers. Other robots for the home and yard come next.

Who runs the site

Home Robot Compared is a small independent project. We build and edit it ourselves. Nobody pays us to feature a robot, and no maker owns or funds the site.

How we collect and show data

The figures come from the makers' own pages and manuals, collected on the date shown on each page. We call them what they are, claims, because we do not test robots. When a figure is unknown we leave it blank instead of guessing. Where we have read independent reviews, we write a short summary in our own words, name the reviewers and link to them, and a person approves each one before it goes live. Read the details in how we collect and show our data.

Independence and how we earn

Some store links on the site are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Brands cannot pay to be added, removed, reordered or rated more favorably, and a commission never changes what we write or how we rank. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The full picture is in how we earn.

Corrections

Found a wrong figure, a broken link or something unclear? Tell us through the contact form or write to [email protected]. We check the maker's page and fix the site.
