Home Robot Compared is an independent guide to robots for the home and yard. We collect as little as we can. This page says what, why, and who else touches it. To ask a question or to ask us to delete something, use the contact form.
Reading the site
You do not need an account and we do not ask for your name to read. Our server keeps short-lived technical logs (the address of the request, the page, the browser) to keep the site running and safe. Cloudflare delivers the site and protects it from abuse, so your request passes through Cloudflare.
Counting visits
We use Google Analytics to see which guides and robots people read. We do not use it for ads and we do not turn on advertising features. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we count your visit only if you say yes in the cookie notice. Elsewhere it is on by default. You can change your mind at any time: . Visit pages never carry your name or email, and we remove the part of the address after the question mark before we send it, except campaign tags that start with utm_.
Store links
Links to stores such as Amazon are direct. After you click, the store may set its own cookies; that is under the store's own privacy rules, not ours. When you click a store button we count the click (which robot, which store, which page, your country). That count has no name or email in it. We earn a commission on some purchases. How we earn.
Price alerts and email
If you ask for a price alert we keep your email address, the robot you chose and the price you set. We first send one email to confirm it is yours. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link; after you use it we send nothing more. Our email service, Brevo, sends the messages for us.
Writing to us
The contact form sends us your name, email, message and your country. We use them to answer you and to fix mistakes on the site. We do not add you to any list. To protect the forms from automated abuse we use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is filling them in.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how we use it. Write to us through the contact form and we will answer. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes. We do not use your data for anything that is not written here.
